English Translation of the
Celebration for Alejandro Andrade and
“The Making of Sharpe’s Peril”
Stuart Sutherland: Thanks for being here on behalf of Yuglo and our sponsor, Celtic Films. We are here to celebrate “The Making of Sharpe’s Peril” directed by Alejandro and produced by Celtic.
Yuglo and “The Making of…” was our first contest- we’ve now had six- the concept was simple, to have a contest of film/video shorts. The five video shorts most voted on by members of the community would go to the finals. Those final videos would go to a jury made up of Patrick Juarez, Juan Nacas, and Sydney Borjas. The winner was Alejandro Andrade for his documentary, “Docus de Androide”. The prize was to send Alejandro to India to film “The Making of Sharpe’s Peril” starring Hollywood actor Sean Bean.
Thank you to Celtic for taking the risk of letting the winner of an online contest have total access to the production.
I want to introduce you to Cecilia Gonzalez who is here representing Celtic films.
Cecilia Gonzalez: Thank you Stuart, thank you all for being here. Thank you also to Alejandro and all that participated in the contest “The Making of…” we’ve seen excellent work and of course the most voted we’ve enjoyed all. Thanks to Alejandro and everyone that participated.
As a representative of Celtic representing the industry I have to congratulate the success that Yuglo has had. All of us that participate in this industry know that for the artist it’s difficult to become known and to get a contract with industry representatives, and we know that is the objective of Yuglo. We respect the name. At this moment Celtic is in negotiations to show (The Making of Peril) on an open UK TV channel, ITV3. Well, we are now going to show “The Making of Sharpe’s Peril”, hope you like it, and congratulations to Alejandro.
Stuart: Well, before we see the film, I think it’s important for Alejandro to say a few words.
Alejandro Andrade: Well first of all I want to give thanks to Celtic and Yuglo. It has been very interesting this experience and very enriching as well. The fact of going to India be part of the filming, see how they work. Very happy in that they had confidence in me to bring about the project. The most difficult, as many of those interviewed said, was the heat, being so far away, and it was a bit strange to be in the middle of nowhere among the elephants, and horses, but in the end it was worth it and I hope you like it.
